Neurodivergent Therapy

Does the term “neurodivergent” resonate?

Whether you have been “formally” diagnosed or feel like you may fit into the criteria for a neurodivergent diagnosis, you are in the right place. The human experience is neurodiverse and yet we all live in a world structured for one neurotype. When our school systems, work environments, and social groups all drill the importance of meeting these neurotypical expectations, those who do not fit the mold often spend much of their lives feeling different, not-enough, and confused as to why.

We learn to mask—essentially “act out” neurotypical expectations—as best we can to feel a sense of belonging and acceptance.

At some point, the work it takes to act in authentically wears on us leading to higher rates of anxiety, depression, and burnout.

And then what?

How do I know if this will help me?

The most common neurodivergent clients that comes to me is often the one that “knew, but didn’t know.”

I often hear, “I don’t have a diagnosis, but I’ve always known something was different about me.”

The reason that landed you on this page is likely one of two things:

  1. You are looking for therapy support specifically around neurodivergence. You're interested in learning more about different neurotypes and exploring your own experiences more in the context of your own brain wiring;

  2. You are looking for a therapist for another reason but want to ensure that you have one who is neurodiversity-affirming and is able to support you with your therapy through the lens of understanding neurodiversity.
