Food Relationships 101: A virtual support & education group
Beginning Monday, November 18, 2024 4-5PM PST
$40 per session
“I don’t have a great relationship with food.” I hear it all. the. time.
Which makes sense, because we (gestures vaguely at members of American society) are not raised to.
And there are several reasons for that, but the opportunity to learn about why is not particularly accessible until that relationship with food is recognized as a “disorder.”
This group may be for you if:
• You have ever wondered what it means to have a “relationship with food”
• You have felt lost or confused about the endless stream of contradicting information about how we “should” and “shouldn’t” eat
Okay but what does this have to do with therapy?
That is an excellent question!
The relationship we have with food is one in which we learn to attach emotions and morals to how we eat and see food. This group is not about how or what to eat, but about shifting the language we use around food and gaining an understanding about how the rules we are often taught to follow impact us on a fundamental—and even physiological—level.

Stitchy Minds: A social support group for ADHD & Autistic fiberists
Date & time will be determined by those who are interested in joining in order to ensure the most access
$5 per session
This is an opportunity to meet other neurodivergent folx with similar (special) interests!
Let’s connect over a shared love for the fiber arts while connecting with people who get what it’s like to feel the exhaustion of wearing a mask (or like, 50 masks) in our every day lives. It’s hard to find ~our people~ especially as adults. Especially as adults who are just starting to figure out why we’ve maybe never found our people in the first place.
This group may be for you if:
• You identify as ADHD, Autistic, or AuDHD
• You’re not sure if you identify with these, but you feel like you share a lot of traits and aren’t sure where you fit (either diagnostically or socially)
• You freaking love yarn
Okay but what does this have to do with therapy?
So glad you asked!
I continue to come across more and more folx who tell me something along the lines of, “I don’t feel like I have people” and “I don’t get why people keep trying to talk to me when I’m trying to count stitches.” I get it.
Humans are social creatures (yes, even us introverts) and we need connection. It can be one of the most healing things we can do for ourselves is to find the people that we feel safe being our authentic selves with. This is an opportunity to bring those together who feel they’d like more connection and find it with people who really understand what it’s like to be annoyed when you can’t find your favorite hook.
***Please note: this group is not for those who have never learned a fiber art.
HOWEVER, if you are interested in learning and want to join the group,
please see this page for resources on where to begin
and we would love to have you!
