Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety is human.
If you have a heartbeat, you have experienced anxiety. It is a necessary function of our being to inform and prepare us. So when does it become a concern?
The simple answer is: whenever you decide it’s a concern. If anxiety is taking up more brain space and energy than you have to give, then maybe it’s time for some extra support! There is no requirement for how bad anxiety “has to get” before you can seek help.
How can therapy help me?
Anxiety tells our body that there is a threat present. This is very helpful when there is, in fact, a threat to our safety. However, many people experience this threat warning in response to anything from social settings to daily tasks (don’t you love how needing to call the doctor’s office can set off our fight or flight?).
Therapy provides a non-judgmental space to explore what leads us to have distressing responses to every day stimuli and build compassion for how we learned to protect ourselves.
What to Expect
Everyone’s needs in therapy are different!
Together, we can explore if you are looking for a space to verbally process your experience with anxiety, or if you are looking for more tangible tools for managing emotional responses.
Weekly sessions help build resilience to stress responses through building connection and compassion, as well as learning new tools and putting them to practice between sessions.
